international events management firm headquartered in Jacksonville,
Florida, USA, with offices in London and Toronto.
William H. Coleman, Inc. was
originally established in 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida to provide
Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations services for domestic
USA and International clients. The Company’s first significant
assignments in the Travel Industry were to help launch the first
Rendez-Vous Canada in Toronto, and the inaugural TravelMart
LatinAmerica (Bolsa de Turismo) in Lima, Peru, in 1978. These two
events marked one of the first times that a “pre-scheduled
appointments system” had been used to help organize a “Buyers and
Suppliers” Trade Show.
The Company used this revolutionary
new format to create new Travel Industry events in Florida, The
Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, and several regions in the USA. Most
Travel Industry Events now using the “pre-scheduled appointments”
format are based on the original William H. Coleman, Inc.
“SelectMatch” management systems.
William H. Coleman, Inc. events enable
Buyers of travel services (Tour Operators, Wholesalers,
Meeting/Incentive Planners, & Travel Agencies handling Group Travel)
to research, identify, and develop new products and services for
their clients. Buyers are senior “decision makers” from global
primary markets who can “negotiate and contract” Group and FIT
business, including any kind of “special interest” travel ranging
from adventure, culture and eco-tourism to city stays, luxury and
all types of activity holidays.
Suppliers have the opportunity to
“show and tell” their product, pricing, and promotion policies to
Buyers who are genuinely interested in what they have to offer in an
efficient and effective “strictly business” format. Suppliers are
senior sales/marketing executives representing hotels and resorts,
cruise companies, airlines, tourist boards, city and convention
bureaus, receptive operators, car rental firms, attractions and
other promotional organizations.
The Company exclusively manages Travel
Industry events in Latin America, Mexico, and in Europe that are
carefully targeted to accomplish specific sales development
objectives.
Today, TravelMart LatinAmerica, owned
by William H. Coleman, Inc., is widely recognized as the most
important “strictly business” annual event for building business to
Latin America from world-wide markets. This year will mark the 36th
annual TravelMart LatinAmerica as it is held in Cartagena, Colombia in September. Attendance at TravelMart LatinAmerica in the
last 10 years has been limited to 1000 total delegates: 275 Buyer
Delegates, 250 Supplier Organizations/600 Supplier Delegates, 25
Journalists, and 100 VIP’s.
The Company also currently manages
other travel industry events including Cancun Travel Mart Mexico
Summit, organized the past 25 years for the Cancun Hotel
Association and in recent years has managed Peru Travel Mart for the National Chamber of Tourism in
Peru (CANATUR), and Meet Ecuador and See Ecuador for the Quito Visitor’s
Bureau. The Company also helped launch the Jordan Travel Mart held
at the Dead Sea, and sponsored by the Jordan Tourism Board.
William H. Coleman, Inc. recently
launched its inaugural New Europe Travel Mart, successfully held in
April 2011 in Dubrovnik, Croatia and in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2012.
This new annual tourism sales/business development event is designed
to increase leisure travel to the region that includes the Baltic to
the Balkans, increasingly referred to as “New Europe.”
The Travel Industry around the world
has changed dramatically since William H. Coleman, Inc. organized
its first TravelMart LatinAmerica in 1978! However, the original
management philosophy of carefully “balancing” Buyer and Supplier
registration and attendance to provide maximum business
opportunities has not changed, and it remains one of the primary
reasons the Company’s events have remained productive and
successful.
